Day 3 Fact 3

When I see our sweet Elizabeth I see her daddy, I see my eyes, I see her daddy's determination,I see her daddy's stubbornness. I forget about the almond eyes, round chubby face, and low muscular tone. I wish I could tell you how many people argue with me that she does not have DS. On more than one occasion I have had to threaten breaking out the medical report. So this leads me to Our next fact!

Fact 3:
How do you know if someone has DS? Well the appearance differs in every child. There is no way of looking at a child and determining if it is mild, moterate, or severe. There are some common physical attributes such as almond eyes, low slanted ears, a round face, there is sometimes a semi crease in the palm, wide spead big toe, flattening of the nose between the eyes, and low muscular tone. We had two test done to confirm the DS. One while pregnant I did a materny t21 and after birth she received a Kariotype. On another fact day I'll explain what both of those are! Stay tuned!
