Seasons of change

There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth: A right time for birth and another for death, A right time to plant and another to reap, A right time to kill and another to heal, A right time to destroy and another to construct, A right time to cry and another to laugh, A right time to lament and another to cheer, A right time to make love and another to abstain, A right time to embrace and another to part, A right time to search and another to count your losses, A right time to hold on and another to let go, A right time to rip out and another to mend, A right time to shut up and another to speak up, A right time to love and another to hate, A right time to wage war and another to make peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 MSG)

There comes a time for every mommy where you pack up the bibs, crib shoes, and cute bloomers. Some moms handle it better than others. Me? Well I blubber and cry while packing it up only to have Jay walk in sigh, shake his head smiling, and walk out of the room. Five plus years he's figured out sometimes there are no "fixes" and I cry at irrational things! Oh that sweet man of mine.

This week we bought Elizabeth her first pair(s) of big girl Mary Janes (as much big girl as you can get in a 2.5). I out her in a pair of blue jeans and off to the hair salon to have her twelve hairs trimmed!
My heart almost couldn't bear it but thankfully daddy was in tow for mommys weak moments. He kept Elizabeth entertained, distracted, and happy on my lap while her hair was "styled." We said good bye to her sweet baby fuzz and "rattail" and hello to a future bob haircut. Elizabeth was the picture of perfection. She giggled, cheered, and pointed and waved to herself in the big mirror!

I had a wonderful friend remind me not to be sad that because she is growing up and becoming a toddler I'm doing my job. She's not just growing she's thriving. What more could I ask for!

Here's a few pictures of last day of summer fun! Hope you enjoy!
