Forever Cartoon Buddies

Jay and Elizabeth's relationship has blossomed in the last few months. I can promise even though "mama" was her first word "dada" is used more frequently. From the time he walks through the door until it comes night night time he's the apple of her eye. They giggle, play, and flirt incessantly. But it's the smaller.. Quieter things that really touch this mommy's heart.

This past Friday was one of the few Fridays in several months Jay has not worked or we've not had plans. Elizabeth was up early as usual, making her way in our bed, and in the best of moods. She of course laid between jay and I all the while repeatedly hitting his back proclaiming "DADADADA" to the top of her lungs. Needless to say, Jay was waking up like it or not. Jay started his morning routine while Elizabeth and I lounged in bed. Before I knew it Elizabeth and I had fallen back asleep. Early morning nap. Jay of course had the house in tip top shape and a fire ready for his "pretty girl." They immediately immersed into their own world of Spongebob Square Pants, Tangled, and Mickey Mouse. I slowly started my morning routine of mixing meds and taking advantage of the free hands.. Or hip should I say.

I started vaccuming the living room rug and  started pondering a few things.. What's so wrong with being different? Aren't we always teaching our children that differences are what make us special?
I wonder if she'll always love daddy's lap and Spongebob?
I slowly came to the realization that if she forever wants to watch Cartoons/Spongebob Jay will Forever have a cartoon buddy. And how is that such a bad thing? In Jays eyes I can assure you it's not. She will always be his "pretty girl" and she will forever be his "Cartoon buddy."

Victoria's unnecessary tip for today:

God has uniquely designed each abd ever fiber of our being. Some of us tall and thin or short and Curvy (we,the Brockway women, like that term better) . Next time your down on yourself remember God placed that freckle there, or God gave you that "thing" that makes you different.

And of course, never forget quality time with your little one goes a long way. God has taught her to be their leaders. So learn how to be a leader and show them leadership! I want my child social. I want my child to know what acceptable and what's not. We believe that in order to instill that we must take TIME to do that! Lead your children/family in a way that would make God proud. It never hurts to try!
