Day 6 fact 6

I remember when the diagnosis was possible. I remember thinking I was too young. 10 weeks of fear of what was wrong with my baby!  I refused invasive testing for the fear of my unborn baby.

Fact 6: 

I was very aggressive about refusing an amino. Little did I know there are,might I add very accurate, less invasive ways. Elizabeth was diagnosed by a test they call a MaterniT21. It test for 3 chromosomal abnormalities. Trisomy 13,18, and 21. Trisomy 13 and 18 are a very high rate to fatal. Elizabeth has Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome). The way the MaterniT21 test work is that it separates my blood for (the child your carrying) from Elizabeth's blood. It test Elizabeth's blood. It's as if they were drawing her own blood. When your pregnant you circulate the babies blood as well. I was so thankful for this testing. I was able to know why was "wrong" with my baby and it had no chances of hurting her! I want other moms to know there is a way without putting their baby at risk!
