Visit from an old friend

Our friend Courtney came into town today. We were so excited. She is a nurse in Maryland, BA in the ER. She has only got to lay hands on Elizabeth once before today.

The last visit with Court was rather short so we did not get to have "THE" conversation. Tonight was got to breeze into the conversation. After rehashing where all are friends are these days we begin to talk about the situations she sees "special need" children come into the ER with. We begin to talk about how she felt when she was told by my sister-in-law. Court went on to tell us how much her heart broke for us. How she knew we had done it right an all she could think about was "Why them?" . My sister-in-law spoke up and quickly said "It's just like we said because Jay and Tori can do this, they can raise a special needs child, anyone else couldn't. "

God doesn't make mistakes. It's just a true now as it was the day I left the doctors office when she told me it was a possibility Elizabeth had DS. That her intestinal problems were a marker.

Jeremiah 29:11 speaks on how he has plans for our future.

Psalms 139:13 says it best for Elizabeth: International Standard Version (©2012)

It was you who formed my internal organs, fashioning me within my mother's womb.

So if your having a hard time in life you must understand that God has a plan. He doesn't make a mistake. Me and Jay raising Elizabeth has been no mistake. Elizabeth has taught me that I am not in control. She has taught Jay patience. I have seen her teach people that you don't HAVE to be perfect, unconditional love and affection, that it doesn't matter what people think, and how important family is. I am so proud of my little 12lb 8 month old that has brought SO much wisdom into one very loving family!
