Thankfulness

Today has been a busy day already. It's only two o'clock and we have already taken Elizabeth to the new pediatrician, done blood work, got the car tag, ate lunch, and picked up a few groceries. Jacob is now cleaning up around the new house.

We loved the new pediatrician. He was very aggressive in Elizabeth's care. He was very comfortable with her "demanding blessings" (A friend of ours made that statement instead of special needs and I liked it so it stuck.) . He is getting Elizabeth set up with Physical therapist as well as a Speech Therapist that specifically deals with children with aversions!

After telling the pediatrician the extent of Elizabeth's medical history all I could do was feel thankful. The doctor looked at me and said "These things don't just happen. She's a little miracle! ( As he's saying this he reaches his hand up and kisses his fingers and touches his forehead and both sides of his chest showing the Catholic sign for the Trinity.) I was touched for someone else to see what a miracle she is.

I was so thankful for every diagnosis she has overcame. For those that know Elizabeth's medical issues have been NO walk in the park but they have still been better than some. The same friend that said the statement " demanding blessing" also reminded us that God never gives us more than we can bare.

I was also thankful for the loving husband I have. To see him and Elizabeth play and giggle does my heart good.  (Of course she was wearing a bow as big as her head! Hints the name of the blog.)

My point is that be thankful for your trials and tribulations in life. What if the trials of this life are his mercies in disguise?
